Join Phil for an exploration of somatic meditation. Each day, Monday through Saturday (Sundays off), 6:30-7:10am EDT, we’ll work with various body-centric practices that help us encounter the meditating body — the part of us that continually offers pure, open, unconditional awareness.
Participants come when they can — some every morning, others a few times a week. If you can’t make the first Monday, not a problem. Throughout the week we’ll delve into one core practice with variations, progressing over approximately four weeks to a more complete practice of pure awareness.
Meditations at the Smithsonian
For several years on Tuesday afternoons, I have offered guided practice at the Meyer Auditorium at the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery in Washington DC. Since all Smithsonian museums closed temporarily March 14, 2020, to support the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, these meditations have shifted to live Zoom gatherings and have expanded to include practices with the wonderful, Aparna Sadananda.
